Hull buffing and waxing for a deep gloss
Keys sun is brutal on gelcoat. Even a well-kept hull loses its gloss over a season, and once the shine goes, the protection usually went first.
A machine buff brings the gloss back, and a marine wax puts a layer between the gelcoat and the sun and salt.

What a buff and wax includes
- Hull washed and prepped
- Machine buffing to bring back depth and shine
- Light oxidation taken off in the process
- High-quality marine wax applied by machine
Buff and wax, or something more?
Buff and wax is maintenance for a hull that's still in decent shape. If the gelcoat is chalky and leaves color on your hand, it needs oxidation removal first.
If you'd rather not wax every season, ask about our NanoPro Borophene ceramic coating, which is built to last far longer than wax.

Common questions
How often should I wax my boat?
It depends on how much sun the boat sees. Boats kept outside in the Keys lose wax protection quickly, so most need it more than once a year.
What's the difference between buffing and oxidation removal?
Buffing restores gloss on gelcoat that's still healthy. Oxidation removal is a multi-stage correction for gelcoat that's gone chalky and faded.
Is ceramic coating better than wax?
A ceramic coating lasts much longer and is harder than wax, but costs more up front. See our ceramic coating page for the comparison.
How much does a buff and wax cost?
Price depends on the length of the boat and the condition of the gelcoat. Call or text 305-852-8335 for a quote.
